Using Compliance to create growth – It’s not what you think
One of the key qualities of a Leader is the ability to embrace change.
Changes to legislation, industry regulation and compliance in general can be a tool to engage and grow your business, if used in the right way.
If you are already someone who values your people, it can be an opportunity or a reason if you need one, to train or communicate with your team.
Why do I need to be Compliant?
Quite simply because without it, you could lose your business!
Think about it; without protecting your IP you might find a disgruntled team member downloading half of your network to set up in competition with you. Or by having a conversation with a potential employee about work conditions you find that you have entered a verbal contract, providing them with a guarantee.

Regardless of Country or State, legislation exists to protect your employees and as a business owner, it is your responsibility to comply and have certain policies and work practices. In most instances,
In most instances, legislation also has an expectation that businesses communicate the policy appropriately to minimise risk.
Put plainly, it may not be enough for businesses to have compliant documentation, you will also need to demonstrate how you have implemented it into your business.
What is Employment Compliance?
There are many ‘friends’ out there that will tell you “you don’t need it” when it comes to employment compliance but the risk is real and the outcome of being caught without it, has seen many businesses and their individual directors face hefty penalties.
There are so many forms of compliance when it comes to employment legislation, from Work Health and Safety, to National Employment Standards and there are so many ways to communicate it; contracts, policy, workplace agreements etc.
